Condé Nast publishes the magazines Wired, GQ, Vanity Fair and Glamour as apps for the iPhone and iPad. Results from 100 hours of one-on-one interviews and 5,000 in-app surveys were aimed primarily at advertisers. However, one conclusion was surprising. Most users leave the iPad at home. Survey results indicate the iPad is not a mobile device.
The reasoning? Mobile devices are most often personal devices. Perhaps because the iPad is easily shared, this limits the opportunity for one person to take it from the primary use point. In this case, that’s the home.
How about you? Is your iPad personal, mobile, shared?
