iPads in Higher Education – Ambitious Project at University of Minnesota

Later this month, the University of Minnesota’s College of Education and Human Development will issue iPads to all freshmen, about 450 total. Students are receiving the devices this fall so they can be prepared to use them for spring coursework. Faculty will examine how iPad use relates to student retention, engagement and learning outcomes. Private funding, not tuition, is paying for the devices.
