Apple Event Recap [part 2]: 4th Gen iPad and the New iPad mini

Part 2 of this recap introduces the latest iPad models, the 4th generation iPad and the new iPad mini. The 4th generation iPad specs are better but the price remains the same. The 16GB Wi-Fi model starts at $499, same as the previous model.

The iPad has a 9.7 inch screen (diagonal). The new iPad mini has a 7.9 inch screen, larger than any major competitor. The iPad mini has about 35% more screen area than competing models and prices start at $329.

The 4th Gen iPad
This new model from the original iPad family boasts better performance, faster wi-fi, the same 10 hour battery life and Apple’s new Lightning connector in place of the old 30 pin dock connector.

The All New iPad mini
The iPad mini has the same dual core A5 chip as the iPad 2, front and backside cameras, 10 hours of battery life and is as about as thin as a pencil.
