YouTube on the iPad: Options for Watching YouTube Videos – Jasmine App

A few days ago, I wrote the first post about playing YouTube videos on your iPad. That post described visiting the YouTube mobile site with the Safari browser. This post offers another option for playing YouTube videos on your iPad.

The official YouTube iPad app is no longer available in iOS 6. Until Google offers a better alternative, you should try the free Jasmine. Jasmine is a great way to manage your YouTube video collection on the iPad. A paid upgrade to the PRO version enables parental controls and helps to keep the free version free. (The developer, Jason Morrissey, named the app for his daughter.)

Jasmine makes it easy to find channels related to your topic. Tap Browse > Browse Channels > Search Channels and type in your search term(s). You can play any of the videos from the search results list or easily add the video to one of your playlists. You can also search on a username by tapping on the Go to User tab. This will take you to the channel for a person or organization.
