How to Make Text Easier to Read on the iPhone or iPad

If you’re finding it difficult to read the text on your Apple mobile device, try these simple fixes to make the text easier to see. These changes should make most fonts and typefaces more legible.

First, turn on the bold text option. Note that this step requires you to restart your device.

Open the Settings app
Tap General
Tap Accessibility
Turn on Bold Text
Restart your iPad when prompted.

Next, adjust the text size that works with Dynamic Type. Dynamic Type allows applications to use fonts that vary in size depending on a user specified setting. Most Apple apps support this feature and more third party apps are adding it.

Open the Settings app
Tap General
Tap Accessibility
Tap Larger Text
Turn Larger Accessibility Sizes on
Drag the slider left or right. The text above the slider will change to show you the result of your setting.
